    Breed Characteristics and Personalities

Up until now, you've been introduced to some of the recognized breeds that have unique features. But, there are more! Do you know that over 40 breeds are recognized by the Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA)?

Not all cats look exactly the same, nor do they act the same. Some are quiet and some like their voices to be heard. Some are very active and others just like to lie around and look pretty. Some like to be very helpful when you are doing things (at least, they think they are being helpful!), and others like to sit quietly in your lap. How you expect a cat to look and act is very important when making the choice of which breed to have as a pet.

We've put together a handy-dandy chart that will show you all the different breeds and help you, and your parents, decide which cat will fit into your household routine best. Just follow the alphabetical links below to take a look at all of the CFA recognized breeds of cats.
